Here's what we at Gillman Honda San Benito know about the 2017 Honda Ridgeline release date, features and specs so far:

2017 Ridgeline Release Date

With the design, development and production happening in America, Honda is predicting the Ridgeline launch will be in the first half of 2016. So expect the 2017 Ridgeline in San Benito on our lot around summer/fall of this year!

2017 Ridgeline Design

This comeback cannot be ignored. The 2017 model brings incredible updates to the first-generation Ridgeline including more space, more versatility and more features.

Built on Honda's lightweight unibody construction platform, the Ridgeline will be powered by a 3.5-liter, direct-injected i-VTEC™ V-6 engine and 6-speed automatic transmission. The interior will be the largest and most sophisticated of midsize 4-door pickups. You'll find premium materials and accents, tri-zone climate control, push button start and an available 8-inch Display Audio touchscreen.

2017 Ridgeline Capabilities

The Ridgeline is incredible versatile in terms of passenger and cargo capabilities. A 60/40 split and folding second-row seat allows room to comfortably carry up to five people around South Texas, while still giving flexibility to carry tall or bulky items with the seat bottom opened up. With the available AWD system, the Ridgeline has the segment's best handling and traction capabilities. Payload capacity approaches 1,600 pounds and flat bed space is 4-foot wide, so there's no compromising on bed utility.

With the new 2017 Ridgeline, Honda hopes to challenge and innovate the traditional pickup. As executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. John Mendel said, "We think we've got a better idea, a truck that uses its unibody construction and Honda packaging magic to deliver more of the things that many of today's truck customers want and need with none of the things they don't."

The Ridgeline will compete with traditional midsize pickups in terms of towing and hauling, but will accelerate quicker, handle smoother and be more fuel efficient.
