Drivers and enthusiasts alike can’t help but be impressed by the new Honda Civic, and we don’t blame them. With a stellar design and quite a bit of power, it’s spry, stable, and a lot of fun to drive at any speed. But if you want to go a bit faster, there’s a newcomer to the American Honda family arriving this spring: the Civic Type R.
The Honda Civic that debuted last year is more than just the tenth generation of the solid, reliable and fun to drive sedan that helped carve a name for our preferred automaker in the American market. It’s also the fulfillment of a promise Honda made to offer a sedan, hatchback, coupe, Si, and Type R model in the U.S. market by 2017.
The Honda CR-V of which we’re quite fond has been on sale since 1997, and has been through four impressive automotive generations. Lately, however, with Honda updating virtually every member of its product portfolio, it would seem they’ve opted to elevate the CR-V to its fifth generation with new tech, a slightly new look, and fresh engines.
